Current Fundraising initiatives Keep up to date on the different fundraising opportunities voted in by the community at the 2024 Fall Community Meeting. Below you will be able to track the status of the various projects. As more information becomes available, new information will be added. Watch for estimates for the renovations, updates to timelines, and more. As we progress, the community may be asked to vote again once we have firm numbers. If approved, information about our fundraising goals for each project will be included. Track Renovation Site Survey Awaiting date for visit and full estimate for the track project. Community Vote Once final numbers are known, and there is a sense of timeline, the community will be invited to approve moving forward with the project. Track Project Fundraising If the community approves the track project, extensive fundraising will be required. Gym Floor Renovation Site Survey Community member to lead the project has been found. Volunteers will help get kids lined up with their picture packet & make sure their hair is just right. We might need some help escorting kids to & from the classroom as well. * Free picture packets are available for Picture Day Volunteers during their shift. They will need to order with the envelope (not online) and use the tickets provided. Currently this committee has one lead and is looking for one or two more people to help manage logistics. Auction: In need of additional support. This fundraising event has an experienced committee of five and is looking to add two to five more people . This is a great opportunity to get involved and learn more about hosting the school auction. If you are a party planner, this is the job for you! Production: In need of additional support. The production room at the school serves the teachers and staff. There is always something to do. There is currently one committee lead and we are seeking one to two more people . The work load is fairly light but it makes a huge impact! Carnival: Leadership needed. The spring Carnival is one of the most anticipated events at the end of the school year. Four to eight people are wanted to organize the event. There is a detailed plan from previous leadership available. Planning for this event is easier the sooner it is started. BSCO Fall community Meeting: Voting Results 140 community members voted on the initiatives brought forward. Thank you to everyone who participated. Passed BSCO will move forward to get a full estimate for how much money it will cost to renovate the track and how long improvements will take to complete. Passed BSCO will make funds available to the Garden Counsel for improvements to the Student Learning Garden, with a cap for $40k for this year. A community oversight page will be made availble on the BSCO website for transparency and accountability with use of funds. Passed BSCO will seek a representative to contact the district. The community has approved paying for a site evaluation to get a quote/timeline. Passed BSCO will increase the budget for the Pantry Provisions committee so they can pilot the BSD Food for Home program at Bonny Slope. A permanent increase will be considered when BSCO sets its budget in the spring, at which time the community will vote to approve another year.
