The Bonny Slope Elementary Carnival is one of the biggest community events on our calendar 🎪 Though the event takes place in May, planning starts now. Pancake breakfast is coming up fast (February 8) and committee leads are needed to start planning and organizing for this popular community event! Traditionally hosted by our 5th graders, committee leads can come from anyone in the community. You won’t go it alone - there are a few interested committee members already engaged. Many hands make light work! 🥞🥣💪 Contact committees@bonnyslopebsco.org to get added to the committee roster today!

Congratulations to our first marathon runners! There are several students that are not far behind 🏁

Come join us at 7:45 am on Monday and Thursday mornings… rain ☔️ or shine ☀️

☔️Rain or Shine ☀️ … Bobcat Trail Club is ON!

On rainy days we move “Under Cover.” Don’t worry, your student knows what it means to be “Under Cover.”

🏁The day will start the same by dropping backpacks under their Grade/Teacher sign. Rather than heading out to the field/track, students will head up the stairs towards the playground and go “Under Cover.”

There they’ll:
✅ Find their grade/teacher basket to find their card
✅Run around the cones until they get to the volunteer area where they’ll grab a popsicle stick
✅After they grab 4 sticks, then they stop at another set of volunteers to scan and count 1-lap
✅Students will continue to do small laps, collect a popsicle stick and then scan every 4-sticks
🏁At the end they’ll do a final scan and then drop their cards in their grade basket

So, if it’s raining, we’ll see you “Under Cover” 🐾

Families can register their students in 3rd - 5th grade to participate in Oregon Battle of the Books at Bonny Slope!

Registration closes on October 25th!

Reminder that OBOB is an optional extra curricular activity: these titles will not be covered by the teachers. Students will read the OBOB titles on their own time.📚

THANK YOU to everyone who registered on PledgeStar or turned in their Jog-a-thon envelope to the main office. We are so excited to have reached 60% participation for the entire school! Earning the OMSI experience assembly! 🎉
