Bonny Slope’s 2019 Auction – Results are In!

This year’s “Swing into Spring” auction event at Top Golf was an evening to remember. NET fundraising results for this year’s event are already over $30k – and that’s BEFORE adding the accompanying matching funds, meaning that this year’s event continues BSCO’s legacy of strong and purposeful support of the teachers, classrooms, and students of Bonny Slope.

Parents, teachers, staff and community members descended upon Top Golf on April 14 to participate in this annual fundraising event.  The Auction is BSCO’s second major fundraiser of the year, following last fall’s Jog-a-thon. Proceeds will fund the balance of BSCO’s annual budget, as well as provide support for BSCO’s STEM programs.

If you were unable to attend, but are still interested in participating, there are opportunities still available. Select parties and gift certificates are available for purchase and an 11x14 print of the fifth grade mosaic is available to buy online.

5th GRADE MOSAIC PRINT ($20)

Every year a beautiful composite photo is created using photos of our 5th graders. Created with our own spunky 5th graders’ faces, this mosaic of Multnomah Falls is a classic, iconic image of one of the most magnificent and memorable waterfalls as any in our country. Take home an 11 x 14 print as a keepsake of your student’s time at BSE.

Want to get involved? Consider becoming a Committee Lead in 2019/2020!

Even though the "C" in BSCO stands for Community, it could also easily stand for Committee because without the efforts of our Committee Leads and Committee volunteers, BSCO would not be able to provide the amazing variety of enriching activities that our students have come to love and the resources on which our school has come to rely.

Please consider volunteering your time by becoming a Committee Lead.  It's a great way to meet other parents, get more involved with the school, and share a skill or talent.

Don't be intimidated by the commitment.  Time commitments vary!  We can find a way for you to get involved in a way that works best for your interests and bandwidth. 

Don't want to go it alone? Get a few of your BBFFs (Best BonnySlope Forever Friends) together and tag team the job. The more the merrier!!

The positions that are open for 2019/2020 include: 

  • Auction - Chair this Annual Spring Fundraiser

  • Carnival - Be part of the team that plans the annual Bonny Slope Carnival in the spring!

  • Community Garden - Assemble a team of green thumbs to help the students learn about how to tend to the organic garden on the Bonny Slope campus.

  • Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) - Coordinate the reading program for 4th & 5th graders.

Co-Leads Needed - this means there is already a lead, but they need a wing-man or woman!

  • Science Night - Encourage student projects and coordinate vendors to excite our kiddos about science.

  • Yearbook- Preserve these amazing memories forever in our annual yearbook celebrating each school year.

Bonny Slope is all set to celebrate at our Spring Fundraiser on Sunday, 4/14 from 5pm to 8pm at Top Golf in Hillsboro.  Don’t wait and forget, buy your AUCTION TICKETS today! (available online through Thursday, April 11th).

One of the most anticipated items of the auction is the sign-up parties and this year does not disappoint! With a selection of 13 different experiences including returning popular favorites as well as some fresh opportunities. We can’t wait to see you on the list!  Each party is hosted by incredibly generous Bonny Slope parents. These events are a terrific way to support our students and the BSCO programs they fund while also having fun and connecting with the greater BSE community.

  • Barre3 2Bubbles, May 5th:  This is an experience for all fitness levels. Be introduced to barre3 in a fun and positive setting, surrounded by other Bonny Slope parents. Once finished, celebrate yourself and the collective experience with a bubbly bar and delicious appetizer spread.

  • Around the World Food & Drinks, May 11th:  No need to fly anywhere!  Spend the evening sampling delicious food, drinks and desserts from around the world featuring the authentic cuisines of Mexico, Japan, Greece and India.

  • Blizzard Wines Tasting and Food Pairing Experience, May 12th: Take an afternoon to relax and savor delicious wines paired perfectly with bites to eat, all while enjoying scenic views from the Estate Room at Blizzard Wines.

  • Mediterranean Brunch, May 19th: Indulge yourself in a healthy and delicious Mediterranean Brunch in style.  Enjoy a variety of cheeses, olives, freshly baked puff pastry, dried figs and apricots and fresh pomegranates!

  • Mom's Wine Night, June 7th: Cheers to Summer! Join us for a Mom's Night Out on 117th Place. Enjoy wine and nibbles, and of course good company.

  • Family Backyard Movie Night , Aug. 24th: Enjoy a family-friendly movie under the stars as we bring summer to a close! Bring your whole family, a blanket or chairs to sit on, and leave the rest to us.

  • Bubbly Brunch, Sept. 8th:  Toast to Bonny Slopes exciting future! Moms and/or Dads of current kindergartners and first graders are invited to attend a casual brunch bash.

  • Family Dodgeball Party, Sept. 14th: Enjoy a family-friendly dodgeball game at the "Gatchell Compound"! Bring your whole family, competitive spirit and leave the rest to us.

  • Caribbean Island Style Dinner Party, Sept. 21st: Indulge yourself in the tastes of the Caribbean and the soothing sounds of ocean!

  • Margarita Mamas, September 27th: Kick off the end of summer with a delightful evening of refreshing margaritas, tasty bites, and the company of the lovely ladies of BSE.

  • Drinks, Cocks & Nibbles, Sept. 28th:  Don't miss another smashing time of BADMINTON competition and smackdown. Leave your kids at home, but bring your A game.

  • Burn to Brunch, Oct. 5th: Have fun, challenge your body, and feel the burn with other Bonny Slope parents. Then reward yourself with a catered brunch and mimosa as you unwind in an afterburn glow.

  • Mixology 301, Nov. 2nd: Mix, muddle, and shake a variety of unforgettable cocktails with expert guidance from a local Portland bartender and fellow BSE parent!

  • AUCTION NIGHT EVENT TICKETS: Admission tickets on sale NOW until Thursday, April 11th. Enjoy dinner, drinks, contests, raffles, and a silent auction featuring great packages and student art.  Secure your spot in one, two, or all of our popular adult/family parties hosted by our amazing BSE families. Join the fun and make memories for years to come.

  • PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY RAFFLE: A limited number of these must-have tickets are sold for $50 each and a winner will be drawn the night of the event (need not be present to win).

  • 50-50 RAFFLE: Try your luck in our fifty-fifty raffle.  The winning ticket holder will win 50% of the total money taken in by this raffle.  Cost is $25 per ticket (need not be present to win).

  • TEACHER EXPERIENCES:  Grab a stop for your student in one of the hugely popular grade-level parties hosted by our wonderful teachers! These are a great opportunity for students to spend time with classmates and teachers in a fun atmosphere outside of school hours.  No need to attend the auction to be mom and/or dad of the year!

  • HOST A TEACHER: Pick up an admission or two for our awesome staff members!

  • WINE WALL: Help to build our Wall of Wine and join us for a tasting at Erin’s Wine Cellar this Friday, March 8th from 6pm-8pm.

Stock the Auction Wine Wall Event set for March 8th

Come join us for a fun night out and help BSCO stock the auction's Wall of Wine

Erin's Wine Cellar is hosting a wine tasting event on Friday, March 8.  There's a $10 tasting fee BUT you can use that towards any purchase of wine for our Wall of Wine.  They will also be giving you a 15% discount on your purchase.

If you can't make it that night, The Wine Cellar will continue to collect wine and offer the discount for two weeks after the event.
