The third annual Vision Fun Run is taking its mark on Sunday, May 20th, 2018, right here at Bonny Slope Elementary. Participants will embark on a fun filled morning that not only includes running/walking with your family and friends but also raffle items, a bouncy house, face painting and some yummy treats!

The fun, casual, and family-friendly event is organized by Bonny Slope fourth grader, Ella Osborne, and her mom, DeDe Osborne. Ella was born with a subcapsular cataract and unspecified amblyopia, began patch therapy at just three months old, and started wearing glasses at two years. Fortunately, these services were provided by her family, but many local children do not have the same opportunity.
The mission of the Vision Fun Run is to raise funds and awareness for children with visual and hearing needs, while encouraging families to be more physically active and involved within their community. All proceeds support The KEX Kids Fund, a non-profit organization established to provide students with free comprehensive eye exams, eyeglasses and/or hearing aids.

A: Absolutely not! This event is designed to be family friendly for all ages and abilities. We welcome runners, joggers, skippers, walkers, and tortoises alike!
Q: What is the total distance?
A: The run is not tracked in terms of distance, but rather broken into 25 minute intervals.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Wear a hat :) We'll be there, rain or shine! This is Oregon, after all…
