Revelers blasting back to the 1960s in 2015's Bobcat Soiree and Auction, A Mad Affair.

Planning for the third annual BSCO Bobcat Soiree and Auction is well under way!  The event, Totally Awesome 80’s, will take place Saturday, April 16 at the Tiffany Center and will feature live and silent auctions, dinner, drinks and an after-party.  Tickets are currently on sale.

The auction provides crucial funds in which 100% of the proceeds go directly to enrichment programs that positively impact our kids and their education at BSE.  Auction dollars have enabled us to provide everything from new Chromebooks, visiting authors, BSE’s new art program, science enrichment presentations, art literacy and teacher classroom support.  Further details of BSCO’s programs this school year are detailed here.

In addition to funding, the event is simply a way to let loose and engage with other parents, teachers and members of the BSE community 80’s style.  Attendees are encouraged to be creative and freely interpret what the 80’s means to them in terms of dress, whether that's Madonna pop, decadent shoulder pads, 80's rock, neon dreams and more.

New to the event this year is family style dinner service at the tables instead of a buffet.  In addition, there is a new auctioneer and a different arrangement of space in the silent auction room.

"Every year is just another opportunity to continue the strong precedent that was set before and see how we can improve," said Karen Rasor-Cohen, event chair.  "It is, as always, going to be an amazing and fun time with our incredible community!"

The auction committee is still in need of donations including airline miles, gift cards and Blazer tickets.  "We welcome donations in any form. We really just want people to buy tickets to the auction, come have fun, and support our school," said Rasor-Cohen. Current auction items include a variety of great experiences and items that cater to a broad spectrum of people’s favorite things, activities and places.  A full listing is available on the event site

For those unable to make this special event, there are still ways to contribute to the cause.  Parents can sponsor a staff member, enabling a BSE teacher to wine and dine for free.  Teacher experiences are also available for $25 per student and can be purchased online prior to the event.  These are a fun, unique opportunity for students to just hang out with their teacher.

Rasor-Cohen credits her team for helping pull off the event.  "It feels like planning a big wedding and takes a whole village of amazing people working together," she said.  Volunteer opportunities, specifically working the night of the event, are still available for the auction.  Email Karen and Steph at for more information.

"We have a great community at Bonny Slope, and when we all work together, the outcome is great! I hope to see a lot of new faces in attendance this year to continue this rewarding tradition,” said Stephanie Wilson,"  event co-chair.

Early bird pricing is available on the website through March 6th for $60 per ticket. After March 6th prices rise to $70 per ticket.
