BEAM Sheds Light on BSD School Crowding Issue

Beaverton School District (BSD) is growing rapidly and our schools are becoming more crowded. The Beaverton Education Advocate Movement (BEAM) has organized online to provide a voice for those concerned.

BSD is planning to re-boundary elementary schools within the next year to adjust for the new school as well as use capacity currently available within the district. If this is started immediately, it could be finished prior to the end of the current school year and take effect for Fall 2016, significantly easing or ending the overcrowding problem within our elementary schools.

If you'd like to lend your voice to the movement, follow these steps:

1. Join the Facebook community group “Beaverton Education Advocate Movement” (BEAM) to learn more and ask questions.
2. Sign the online petition at requesting the School Board and BSD Administration to begin the Elementary School Boundary Adjustment process immediately for effect in Fall 2016.
3. Share your concern for our school children and this information with all of your family, friends, and acquaintances within the Beaverton School District through Facebook, or e-mail. Adults to do not need to have children in elementary school to sign, but live within the BSD boundaries.
