I enjoyed seeing many of you at the quarterly BSCO meeting on Wednesday and the Principal Chat today! The parents at the Principal Chat gave a suggestion on how to improve the communication with the Paw Prints. The suggestion was to send the Paw Prints newsletter home on a weekday other than Friday. Next week we are planning on sending the Paw Prints Newsletter home on Thursday. As always, your ideas and suggestions are very important to me. I have an open door policy. If you have an idea that you feel would improve our Bonny Slope Community, please feel free to stop by my office or send me an email.
Today was our Young Audience Assembly of Asia Fantasia with Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo. Robert led the students in storytelling, theater and music. He presented folktales and myths from Korea, Japan, China, Tibet and other Asian countries. He tells his audience that his craft is one that is “often embellishing the plots with the lyricism of a bamboo flute, and bringing characters to life with animated facial gestures”. Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo was an outstanding and informative entertainer!
Next week we will have Kindergarten Round-up on February 4th at 6:30 PM. If you know of a family that will be attending Bonny Slope next year, please make sure they know they are invited. It is most helpful if the families can stop by ahead of time to get the paperwork to fill out before Kindergarten Round-up. Yeah!
Students have been working all year to improve their typing skills in technology. If your child would like to practice his/her typing skills, please go onto the BSE website, click on “Academics”, then click on “Technology”. Your student can practice typing using Typing Agent. The username is your student’s lunch number/ID number and the password is Type.
Have a great weekend!
